When my grandma died, I got bereavement leave and when my partner's mum died, there was no trouble getting leave for the funeral. Twice when nasty chest infections struck, I had 2 weeks off. When I returned to work my manager met me to see how I was, not to chastise me for not being immortal. When I've been late due to late buses, I've not been disciplined, but rather told to take a couple minutes and have a cuppa before starting. It's just nice being treated like a real person. 🧵 4/4
