If the main theme of a movie isn’t about going home for Christmas, saving Christmas, rekindling the spirit of Christmas, Santa or other holiday characters, a story of Christmas itself, or themed entirely around a Christmas event, it is not a true Christmas movie, it’s just a movie that happens to take place at Christmastime.
