Veteran here who primarily uses the VA. I’ve had to wait a minimum of 3 months for non-threatening issues. Recently my dr discovered I had several bone spurs in my right foot. I was able to get into community care and get my surgery scheduled within less than a month this past summer. They deemed my surgery necessary as it affected my day to day living and work life. It’s really not as bad of a wait as most people think. I’ve been using the VA healthcare system since I was 21 and I’m 36 now.
