It continues to amaze me how many people think “non profit” means altruism. Non profit means they have to spend it all. Bonuses. Salaries. Retreats. Jets. Travel. It does not mean morality.

I think one of the biggest differences between non profits and for profits is that non profits aren’t owned. You can’t really have a share in a non-profit. You can certainly make money, but you can’t build it and sell it like a for profit company. Also, not sure I know many people who think non-profits are altruism.

Goodwill is a nonprofit and their top paid CEO made $650k in 2022. Granted, this is less than the CEOs that are making millions a year, but it's still an insane amount for an organization based on doing good and donating
