I've generally moved on from this kind of thought. First languages are first learnt through hearing and speaking. Reading and writing comes second. Pronunciations vary across the English speaking world. The language has also evolved a lot over the centuries, the English we speak now is very different to the English of the past. The English of the future will likely evolve in some ways away from how we've been speaking up until now. Languages are fluid not fixed
