No one reads longform anymore. Or not enough to matter. You put days of effort into research and writing and a hundred people show up to read it. They get their news, worldview, and interaction from social media. Worse, Social Media platforms (I'm looking at you, Meta) mark blogs as "spam" because they don't want people linking to external content. Eventually you realize you're just pissing into the wind.
