I'm allowing my inner spelling demon to come out because it's bugging me that the difference between these two words is fading. Lose v loose. They are different. Lose: pronounced 'luz' (voiced final consonant), when you misplace a thing, or are bereaved by someone dying Loose: pronounced 'louss' (unvoiced final consonant, the same as when it's an adjective), when something is tied up and you release it; to unleash something/someone/a herd of demons etc
