The woman next to me on my flight tonight was crying - sobbing. I had no idea what was going on for her, but - I wanted to comfort her. I know that means different things to different people. I felt okay to put my hand on her shoulder and it seemed like she appreciated it (that’s a tricky one-- I get that. You don’t want to overstep, but my gut said she could use it) Then I saiid “I’d buy you a drink but I hear they’re free” (we were in 1st) We had a good laugh at my dad joke. Be kind.
