We’re INCREDIBLY lucky in WA at 1300/2bed 1.5 bath, yard, garage, duplex. That’s running 3-4k for most others, 1bed apartments running 1000+. It’s absolutely horrendous when my first apartment 8 YEARS AGO was 375 1bed with a yard and garage, and washer dryer that was only mine to use. And 6 years ago, it was 800 for a two bed apartment. The fact we only pay 1400 for the home we have now is such a blessing, especially for me who was homeless twice 2019/2021.

The street I live on, there are four duplexes all exactly like mine, and we’re the cheapest by far. The other are corporate owned and they pay almost if not 3000. Ours is privately owned. And I’m in an outskirt city, not even the central city. It gets worse the closer to town you get.
