Yeah we’re finicky with guns because, like Australia, we decided our one school mass shooting was one too many and most of our politicians agreed. Because that’s how grown ups behave.

Funnily enough, the one politician who disagreed was Boris Johnson, but he was pretending to be a journalist at the time.

100% that. It shouldn't be difficult to understand and yet the small percentage of their population OBSESSED with guns absolutely cannot grasp it.

Technically, it’s the mass shootings we’re finicky with. We actually have a fair bit of legal firearm ownership, it’s just that said ownership and use is vigorously monitored and legislated. I’d happily own firearms, but the reality is, I don’t need them and don’t have a practical use for them. And I’m quite happy with that.

We didn't have a school shooting in Australia but several mass shootings in the lead up to the Port Arthur Massacre.

Our politicians weren’t convinced in the 90’s but Sophie Norths dad and those working with the snowdrop campaign faught hard and thankfully sense won. We’ve grown up a heck of a lot safer thanks to their hard work!

That one school shooting lead to a ban across Ireland and europe as well as far as I remember. If only the Americans would watch and learn
