My wife and I went to an AWARD WINNING Italiian restaurant in Scottsdale last night. Award. Winning. Looking through the menu, my eye falls upon their Linguini Carbonara. I said "ooo- carbonara!" My wife sees it on the menu, and reads the details, just as I was scanning them myself. Then we look each other in the eye, and just can't find the words. Anyway- here it is from the website menu:

Also, (much like a "reader's vocabulary" is one where the subject has read a word but never heard it spoken and so mispronounces and/or misuses it,) Scottsdale has always struck me as an uncultured and uninformed person's idea of what class and culture must be like.
