Are audiobooks TECHNICALLY "reading" as going by the dictionary definition? Well, no. But when someone says they "read" a book, we understand it to mean "I consumed this piece of media." They're getting the same information. People btching that "reading" isn't being used in its literal context when you KNOW FROM SOCIETAL CONTEXT WHAT SOMEONE MEANS WHEN THEY SAY IT. I put movies on in the background and hardly look at them as they play, but I still say, "I watched that movie." Just...chill.
