We can all agree that Santa gives the second-tier gifts, right? The games and mid-cost toys. Clothes. Meanwhile, the AAA-level presents come from Mom and Dad, right? I’m not letting Santa take credit for my slam-dunk expensive gifts.

We do it that way because nothing makes you feel worse as a kid when you ask "what does Santa love that kid more than me?"

Mine seem to come up with very specific, semi outrageous asks for Santa and they ask us for the things they actually want. Example: 10 wants 100 bottles of prime from Santa 😎 unsure how Santa is going to present these 100 bottles.

It’s our first year with Santa visiting. The baby is getting some puffs in her stocking in lieu of candy, a stuffed bunny, a couple of board books and a couple of little romper outfits.

Santa always brought the same gift genre to all the kids in the household (bikes, games, books, etc) we celebrated with a large number of families so it took planning but Santa didn't show more love to one kid than another.

Yep. In our house Santa brings new pj's, a book and a game for the family. Expensive stuff comes from mom & dad. I don't want my kids going to school after break saying that Santa brought them an ipad or ps5 when another kids got socks from him. Also, we work really hard to provide our kids with nice things and they know and (mostly) appreciate it!

Ours is the opposite. Santa gives the big gifts that mom and dad would or could never give. The limited edition shoes. The thing they’ve said no to all year long. I could not care less about getting the credit. They will realize when they are older and now that mine are, they still talk about how shocked they are that Santa pulled off some of the best and craziest gifts ever!

In our house Santa gives the gifts that are too hard to wrap. 😅 one year Santa brought my daughter the Barbie dream house we got second hand and already built. Santa brought a pogo stick for my son a couple years ago. This year he’s bringing a giant sensory table with the kinetic sand and accessories. Next year it’ll probably be bikes. I really don’t care if Santa gets the credit for now bc kids won’t believe forever and once they figure it out they’ll give me and their dad credit in hindsight.

Exactly this. My kid will not go to school saying “Santa got me a PS 5” while Santa may have given another kid in his class mittens and a scarf.

Santa gives what is to awkward to wrap. Sometimes that’s a cheap thing and sometimes it’s the most expensive. I don’t care who gets “credit” if my kid enjoys what she gets and she is thankful.
