I’ve been doing this for 15 years and the only place I’ve found to escape that culture is hospice. My coworkers and I have literally zero drama.

Maybe, stop expecting people in general to be nice to you? I know it’s basic human decency and all…but people don’t owe you the kind/pleasant side of them at all. If that’s the side they want to show you maybe that’s the source showing you that person isn’t meant to be in your life. This is what has helped me deal with “mean girl mentality” and has helped me not internalize and take anything too personal in the healthcare world. Hope this helps in someway! ✨🌀

Look around who’s in power and over represented 🤭

I see it more with the newer generation of nursing. Thinking they can do anything and go anywhere. Experience is key, and when you jump from one place to another and expect to be treated and given the same privileges as those who have been working in their field for a while, that's when people snap.

That’s any place with a lot of women.

Nurse here! We are tired of bs new grad in it for money only and don’t want to learn. We are tired management paying every white nurse who walks in more. We are tired of management who allows white nurses to hold positions they are “not qualified” for but the same courtesy is not given to colored nurses…the list goes on
