Bleak Winter - The bleakness of winter is sometimes diminished by the stark bare beauty that wind, rain and ice reveal. Their cutting clawing fingers tear away the peripheral and extraneous to reveal the hard, resilient core that nearly all life possesses. I am always return to this spot to photograph these five trees and on this occasion their skeletal forms exposed against that steel grey sky looked especially perfect. Photography
