I started a men’s group in another country last year. The desire for men to be around and “sharpen” one another is overwhelming. Community is vital and the myth of the lone wolf or “tiger” archetype is poisonous. We come into this world relying on others. We leave this world relying on others, if we live that long. We can’t do anything without others, directly or indirectly. Isolation is often rooted in fear—often of rejection. But we most all suffer from the same thing. We do better together 🫶

Moved to a new city for a new job. They made me work from home. Still haven't found a warm/welcoming place in the city. I travel to see my friends as much as I possibly can. Working on finding a new job so I can maybe fix it.

My wife died 8 years ago. I'm alone but not lonely. I have two dogs. I don't wanna be married again, so that's that.

Gratefulness ❤️‍🩹

Self work. I made so I like being with me. Loneliness sucks way less when you actually like yourself. Don't get me wrong, the gut wrenching pain of it hits sometimes, but less often.

You realize. There's not many years left. You either figure it out or drop everything and start over. It's like the carpenter saying, i've cut it three times and it's still too short. If you can't fix it, get another one or give it up.

There is no antidote for mine, it is deserved.

I write jokes. I tell those jokes onstage. I also have my live in partner.
