If your kids (even teens) come home from their dad’s house disregulated, they don’t need to know you love them. They need to know they’re lovable, even when their emotions are all over the place. Don’t try to solve it, show them it’s safe to be with it.

13 小時內	Lorien lorienjohnson	I love this message, but please--"dad's house" NEEDS to be "other parent's house." So many fathers are powerfully good. So many men have done the work to regulate themselves so that they can actively love their kids and help them self-regulate. Not all mothers are good. Not all mothers have done that work. We exacerbate sexism and condemn 50% of parents when we're careless with our language.
