Also, some of us need honesty. Direct communication. Good faith interaction. Transparency. Information! It's like people would rather do anything other than straightforward communication. It's so hard to form and maintain friendships when the norm seems to be superficial fakeness to your face and gossip or manipulation behind your back. It's hard for those of us whose default is to be open and authentic when our society punishes vulnerability and rewards predatory cruelty and shallow duplicity.
