Some years ago I walked into an overcrowded coffee shop and got in line to purchase my morning beverage and some sugar-filled balls of dough they call donuts. The cashier looked miserable as people pushed and jostled their way to the counter to be served. I decided to attempt to change her misery, if only for a moment. ⬇️

“Good morning,” I said as I stood in front of her frowning face. My eyes were drawn to her wrist, where she sported a lovely rose tattoo. I smiled, looked her in the eye, and said, “What a pretty flower!” The woman’s face lit up and she told me her daughter has the same one as they got them on the same day. Change someone’s attitude today. Kind words move mountains.

Kindness spreads like ripples. Good for you for being the pebble this morning.

Made me smile. Our German exchange student said to me “You talk to everyone”. Not talk too much, just make a kind observation to the person in front or back of you waiting in line. Hey, why not make someone smile?

There was a time in my life that I was the grumpy bitch. I was rude and just plain nasty. I don't really know why. Then one day I decided to stop. If I couldn't be nice then I shouldn't enact at all. I went from that to becoming a nice person. Greeting people with a smile, asking how they were doing, asking if they needed assistance, etc. I like this person I've become. I enjoy making a difference with Kindness. 🫂💙

Yesterday while in Chik Fila I was asked by an elderly woman for a hug which I readily gave as I was having a horrible day. Her daughter looked mortified but I told her mom that hugs were good for you and her daughter smiled. I could have rebuffed the lady but it was obvious she was not who she once had been and being kind is much easier than nasty

Kindness is something that the blind can see and the deaf can hear.
