I believe in reincarnation and, if the Buddhists have it right, we can make our next life a better one by being good people in this one. It seems some people think that is "woke" and choose to be hateful, racist, misogynistic and tyrannical. There is even a country that has just elected a criminal to be the new president. The only consolation I have with the increasing number of hateful people in the influential positions is that in their next life they will all be cockroaches.
