So we are really about to pretend that anime is not just the Japanese word for animation? Like you do understand that anime is only *special* because the art style itself is what originated in Japan. Therefore anything created in that same style is what makes it anime. That’s like saying that if anyone that wasn’t Picasso or Braque used the cubism art style that those artist invented then it wouldn’t qualify as cubism. That’s literally not how art works.
