In a small, rural, agricultural county with lower incomes, yes, 200k. This was a century house. New houses in town are closer to 300k.

There can be a shortage of housing that has realistic pricing that is affordable to members of a community based on the earnings of members of that community. External forces driving costs up within the market. And yes this doctor is a member of the community but they're a f'n doctor. Now it is being rented on a per night basis, occasionally, for much more than the actual daily cost of owning this property, inflating the value and thus, the cost of similar housing. Do you need this explained?
