How do you know your kid isn’t the reason the teacher is grumpy and mean?

If you were a teacher you’d probably be grumpy, too

30 year teacher here. I have grumpy days and even had a grumpy year two years ago…the class was the toughest and most disrespectful I’d ever had. Every year, every day is different. You never know what you’re going to get. So if someone didn’t want to show appreciation because I was “grumpy” , they should come and observe for a day, or period. They might understand and change their attitude about teacher “grumpiness”.

No kids but as a person in the climate we live in … yeah get them something small a candy bar with a card or something shiddd life is hard and teachers are VERY under appreciated!!

Are they mean and grumpy for the entire day? No. Probably not. It might be 5mins at the start of the day because they're busy worrying what extra pressures the government are going go slam on them and add to their already stretched and busy curriculum targets. Be nice. Please.

Did you ever think about the reason they might be tired and grumpy? It could be because they are taking care of your bratty kid that you let be disrespectful.

In a class of 25 you may get some that say the teacher is mean and grumpy and some that say the teacher is great. Want to know why? Kids don’t realize that they contribute to the responses they get from the teacher. If they constantly don’t listen and have to be told several times how to act in a classroom, that makes the teacher mean. Many kids today can’t take simple corrections without complaining about being mistreated
