I just heard an author mention ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis) and say “or as it is better known ‘Stephen Hawking disease’.” I’ve never heard anyone use that as a label for ALS. It is better known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.

Thing is, if you mention Stephen Hawking, everyone would know exactly what you were talking about. I don't believe he meant that that's what we call it, it was just a way of explaining how it affects people.

I didnt think hawking had ALS so thats informative except maybe not the intended direction lol
