I like the idea of ceos only making a certain percentage above the lowest paid employee so if they want a raise, everyone gets a raise. Seems fair and extremely doable

It sounds interesting, but would be easy to scheme one’s way around. Like I’m the CEO of the company, and I only make X times the lowest-paid employee’s pay, but I managed that by putting all the lower-level functions into a technically independent company that then contracts to serve my company. So the security guards, janitors, cafeteria workers, secretaries, etc., are all employees of that service company, rather than my company.
