I live in Georgia Today a school sent out a “your child has been exposed to pertussis” notifications. Now everyone is scrambling to check if their kids are up to date. And so it begins… (My child is vaccinated as am I)

2 小時內	Holly O'Leary olearyholly	There are FDA funded studies on the efficacy of the newer acellular pertussis vaccination. Efficacy rates are reported to be dropping faster than prior versions. So someone could be up-to-date with their vaccinations, but not have sufficient immunity to fight it off. The larger issue with this is that people assume their cough could not possibly be pertussis because they are vaccinated. So they go about their lives, unknowingly spreading it. The trademark barking cough doesn’t always happen.
