I don’t like carrying things in my hands… also I’m kind of flimsy so if the wind is strong enough it could tear the umbrella out and thus waste money + littering. Also I like feeling the rain on my skin 😌😌😌✨

No, it’s practical. We rarely have rain without wind.

I’ve lived in Seattle my whole life, and I have always used an umbrella (plug for Gust Buster). I don’t know where this whole “we don’t use umbrellas” thing came from.

I’m trying to figure out how the whole aversion to umbrellas happened. I think it’s that Portlanders don’t dress up. You wear a nice dress or suit with an overcoat you need one. But with jeans and a hoodie? You wear gortex with a hood.

I just wear a raincoat. Then I don't have to worry about poking people or carrying a dripping mess in the store.

I keep an umbrella in my car (just in case) but it has only been used once that I can remember. Too much trouble and wet dripping umbrellas are messy.
