1. December is winter in the northern hemisphere. In fact, the winter solstice—the longest night of the year—is usually the day after my birthday. It’s dark. It’s cold. And people are starting to wind down into hibernation mode to finish out the calendar year and ride out the season. It makes it difficult to want to do anything, and it also limits what you can do (definitely no pool parties or ice cream cakes growing up—I was always jealous of the summer birthday kids!).

Dec 30th birthday over here! My boyfriends is Dec 25th and my sons is the 31st. I do my best to make both their days special & have very low expectations for my own, never had parties as a kid. Everybody was gone on holidays or too tired & broke. (Not that it’s about money) but that still hasn’t seemed to change as an adult.

12/31 here and one thing my parents did amazing at was not making my birthday part of Christmas. Our tree was down before my birthday came so it didn’t feel like an extension of the holiday and they never gave me combined gifts and neither did my grandparents.

I have a dance teacher born on xmas day and a friend born on boxing day and theyve had issues too, and we live in Aus where its summer but also Summer holidays so people go away for them.

Im a Christmad eve twin. It’s the worst. I very much dislike my birthday.

As a fellow late December baby (12/18) I’ll add one more FINALS - during college and law school my birthday always fell during or after finals which sucked! I’m forever grateful to my buddies who stuck around to celebrate my 21st birthday post finals my Junior year 🤣

I’m 12/27 my hubs is 12/17 it’s chaotic. And yes, all the things you listed- 100% valid.
