I work with several Africans from different countries, and have for decades in various laboratories. They come here "on a mission," and as I was told by Nigerian co-worker, they are heavily indoctrinated with bias against Afro-Americans before they come here. They are taught not to engage in our supposedly self destructive mannerisms and self hate towards each other so they come here wary of us.
