My mom was diagnosed with LBD with Alzheimer’s as part of her differential diagnosis about 9 months ago. She has responded so well to the two predominantly used meds for dementia that on her cognitive testing she went from a high-moderate stage to a middle-mild stage. Medicine and science are amazing. But as her caregiver, I wait every day for the other shoe to drop. Because the decline will start again. Trying to hold on to all the good moments now and to not worry as much about the future.
