I think I’m a little confused because TikTok is getting banned because it’s owned by a Chinese company, so now everybody is migrating to RedNote - but that app is also owned by a Chinese company, right?!

Ya because people are dumb. RedNote is even more China controlled. At least TikTok pretend to be international and separate from the China's version called Douyin. RedNote is just entirely China with all the censorship and propaganda commonly seen in China.

The TikTok ban in the U.S. has sparked widespread upset, but I see it as a necessary move. Americans have many alternatives, like YouTube and Instagram, yet choose exploitative platforms. In Hong Kong, most people avoid TikTok, recognizing it. By the way, do you know why TikTok has separate versions for international users and for them?🤣 While losing accounts is painful, some things shouldn’t exist, especially if they harm a country or distort culture. This decision is in the right direction.
