Regarding Gaiman: I remember thinking as I listened to Sandman as an audiobook, this is some seriously f-ed up sh1t, like, who came up with this stuff? There's some really sick stuff in those stories just listening to the audio conversion, I do not think I'd want that accompanied by pictures... After that I was a bit apprehensive about Niel's work. The signs were there, but NG cultivated a great online persona, interacting with fans, generally seeming like a nice upstanding guy.
