As a non-native It’s not “cute” to be fumbling through tones. It’s mortifying. It’s embarrassing. It’s everything you don’t want. I know ABCs have a major chip on their shoulder but you guys should try to maybe see yourselves in others instead of isolating yourselves so much. It’ll pay off in the long run. That is, of course, assuming you’re actually interested in recognizing common ground rather than playing the victim.
