I stumbled across a video where the creator said pedophilia is the reason why people don’t enjoy reading urban fiction and it upset me off and I need to sit with my thoughts for a minute to understand why I had such a visceral reaction to this.

I think a lot of writers who tap into this trope or scenario are writing what they’ve seen and know. Unfortunately grooming young girls or young girl/older guy relationships are not uncommon in urban/hood communities. Until the community takes this behavior seriously it’ll always be a trope. Just my opinion.
