It still bothers me that I’m called a “fake” Filipino by other Filipino Americans because I don’t like Filipino foods that much. Then I realize they never ate half the shit I ate growing up or they would heavily modify the Filipino foods or eat only the mainstream Filipino foods.

There is more to Filipino cuisine than the mainstream sisig, sinigang, adobo etc. which are usually more prominent in Luzon. Try dishes from the Visayas and Mindanao areas. As for your "friends" let them be, they're Filipino by blood, but most I assume are more western in thinking and upbringing.
