Jesus had the most rebukes for the religious Pharisees. Paul became many things to many people to win others to Christ. He became like the Gentiles and followed their customs when he was with them so that he might win some to Christ. Putting up a tree is harmless as long as you’re not worshiping Odin or something. Most people are following harmless traditions that they don’t know the origins of.
