Technically "no MAN" can just be referring to the Race of Man meaning literally any race (elf, dwarf, hobbit, orc) would be the one to kill him. Meaning it was 110% still Merry that kill him by getting rid of his 8mmortality, she just delivered the Final Blow thats it.
