My husband and I watch the entire extended edition LOTR trilogy every Christmas Day. When people ask why (besides the obvious fact that we are nerds), I tell them: ✅ The Fellowship departs Rivendell on Christmas Day TA 3018 ✅ There are elves ✅ They get gifts in Lorien ✅ There is at least one golden ring ✅ It has 10 (thousand) (horse)lords a-leaping ✅ A snowstorm interrupts travel plans ✅ Friendship, good will, and hope triumph over darkness Therefore, LOTR is a Christmas trilogy.
