My best gift to myself is to stop hiding my autistic traits at least in front of people I trust. It was so exciting and scary to tell them that I didn't want to make eye contact during a conversation, to buy things for streaming in front of them and not lie about why I wanted those things, to try to describe the interests I live by. It was all so difficult. But I've never been rejected once, it's been the best decision I've ever made
