The only thing I can think of is that with the current political moment, the United States has yet to realize its true potential because of unresolved trauma, pain, racism, etc. So in this moment, the plastic symbolizes the lasting hurdle we must overcome to truly be great…we’re living with joy but also in mourning. Truly the black experience in this country…
