My mother has suggested that I make the Ginger Crunch slice a little differently next time. I tend to agree. The ginger fudge aspect is *fucking delightful*, but the shortbread base? Na. I won't be using *that* recipe again. It bakes far too solid (it literally feels like you're breaking teeth). She's suggested making my *own* shortbread recipe (which is superior to yours, btw. Its won prizes), but then blitzing to a rough crumb, combine with butter and layer it like a cheesecake.
