I have recently realized that my favorite genre of TV / movies is what I'd call "comedy with an emotional gut punch." The Good Place, Ted Lasso, Shrinking, just started watching Hacks and about to give Somebody Somewhere a go which both seem like they fit. Any other shows (or movies!) you'd put in this category I might be missing out on?
