Many people get paid time off as well as numerous vacation days. School employees do not. Contrary to your belief system, It’s a real job.Many have 2nd jobs.

The original post said that her kids preschool was closed for a week but I guess reading comprehension is a challenge for you. In any case, because Christmas fell on on a Wednesday a lot of schools closed for the week leading up to Christmas and then usually it's typical to be closed the week after Christmas.

Some of the families (eith parents with "real jobs") take the students out a week early and/or miss the first week back to turn the 2 week break into a 3-4 week break, so I'd say some people appreciate it and wish it were longer...

As a former teacher I actually believed there were parents out there who would gladly give us their children at 3 and collect them at 18.
