When I finally fled, I got a lot of “well, did he actually hit you?” He was punching walls and screaming in our kid’s face, but since he didn’t actually touch either of us, I guess I wasn’t “allowed” to leave. He later broke into my house while I was sleeping and is now spending time behind bars.
