Omega-3 Fatty Acids
What it is: Essential fatty acids found in fish (EPA and DHA), flaxseeds, walnuts, and algae.
Why it made my nice list: Omega-3s have evidence supporting their ability to reduce triglycerides, lower heart disease and cardiovascular disease. Dietary guidelines recommend 8oz per week of seafood containing omega 3’s. Supplements can be considered with the direction of a physician. Supplements containing EPA/DHA sources are advised.
