My father once told me that, prior to 1960 when the Cardinals moved from Chicago to St. Louis, football fans were divided between the Bears on the north side and the Cardinals on the south side like Cubs and White Sox. He was a Cardinals fan and didn’t really pay much attention to the Bears until they were the only game in town.
