I grew up surrounded by my aunties na single, some call them “apal” sa dialect namin or old maiden. They chose to step up when mama died, took care of us. But I always wondered why they never marry & chose to be childfree. Now they are senior citizens & I can’t help but imagine how they went through life alone. Walang partner in life. I know they are happy and fullfield which is amazing. My aunties always told me to work hard, build a career, save and travel. Sadly i did not listen.
