My niblings are reaching ages where I struggle to choose gifts for them. They’ve all each got specific tastes in fashion, skin/body care, and books, with several different people shopping off the same lists. Gift cards and a shopping date cover the gap, sure, but it still feels impersonal. I thought about gifts I received as a kid (Gen-X) or that I gave their dad (Xennial). So often: movies or music, or things to play them on. I got LPs and cassettes, record players and Walkmans. /1
