I say this as both a writer myself & a professor of writing… sites like Grammarly & even Microsoft Word itself will try to remove ANY “wordiness” & I don’t know when we decided the shortest, most robotic way to say something is the best writing. Yes, adverbs can be over done, but why are we trying to do away with them?? Stripping writing of any voice & personality is just going to lead to boring, soulless writing

This is specifically about how AI wants any language outside of the absolute most “essential” words/parts of speech/etc. to be cut & how it doesn’t take into account that people use these programs to write in every different genre. It teaches people (students being my biggest concern) that things like adverbs are “wrong” … they’re not
