I almost died from a kidney infection 11 years ago. I was in and out of it, I had a fever of 103 and rising, I went to the urgent care who told me I had a uti had I not gone to the er I would have died on my couch. Kidney infections are triaged as CAT 3 not immediately life threatening but needs treatment within a fair amount of time. RN in triage should have put a bag of Normal Saline pending on blood results.
